Dogs left unattended for 5 days
Lorain, OH (US)

Incident Date: Wednesday, Feb 6, 2008
County: Lorain

Disposition: Alleged

Alleged: Virginia Ashley Bodey

A 29-year-old Lorain woman will be cited on three charges after two dogs were left unattended for several days, according to Lorain police.

Animal Control Officer Mike Mattei went to 1840 E. 31st St. on Wednesday and found ''feces and urine all over the dwelling'' and two dogs without food and water, according to a police report. Neither of the dogs had a 2008 registration tag.

The property manager told Mattei that he saw police arrest the tenant, Virginia Ashley Bodey, several days before, the report states. No one had cared for the dogs for five days.

Bodey is at the Lorain County Jail for obstructing official business. She will be cited for cruelty to companion animals, nuisance condition prohibited and annual registration of dogs.
