Dog locked in hot car Tampa, FL (US)Incident Date: Wednesday, Feb 6, 2008 County: Hillsborough
Charges: Misdemeanor Disposition: Alleged
Alleged: Mamie Bryant
Despite a temperature of about 114 degrees in her Lexus, a woman locked a dog in the car for nearly an hour Wednesday, Hillsborough County Animal Services spokeswoman Marti Ryan said.
"Her apartment was to be fumigated, so she just took her dog and put it in her car all day," Ryan said.
Mamie Bryant, 47, told investigators that the dog wasn't hers, but, Ryan said, "She appears to have been telling an untruth."
Bryant, of 4201 Kenneth Ct, was charged with cruelty to animals and confinement of animals without food and water. She is being held at Orient Road Jail on $2,500 bail.
The fate of the dog is not known. References« FL State Animal Cruelty Map « More cases in Hillsborough County, FL
