Dog beaten to death
West Palm Beach, FL (US)

Incident Date: Thursday, Dec 27, 2007
County: Palm Beach

Disposition: Alleged

Alleged: Justin Jones

Angry that his girlfriend's dog defecated in the house, Justin Jones beat the animal to death and buried her in the back yard, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.

Jones, 23, is charged with animal cruelty in the death of 1-year-old Bella the bulldog.

According to the arrest report, the dog's owner, Olivia Schulz, was at work when her boyfriend called complaining about the dog and threatened to kill Bella.

When she couldn't get him back on the phone, she called the sheriff's office to go to her home on the 4100 block of Haverhill Road and check on the dog.

Jones had a shovel in his hand when a deputy arrived and said he had just buried the animal in a shallow grave. A necropsy was done on the dog, which concluded it died of blunt trauma.
