Dog-fighting - several dogs found dead

Detroit police are investigating a possible dog-fighting ring after they found several mutilated and dead dogs at a home on the 6000 block of Helca Street in Detroit.

Once inside the rundown home, police said they found a dead dog with a missing eye, a dead dog stuffed inside of an empty dog food bag, another dead dog inside of a garbage can and dog that had been stabbed in the stomach.

Police said they were able to rescue an injured pit bull.

They also found a bloody carpet where police said they believe the fights took place.

Items used for dog strengthening were also found in the home.

No arrests have been made at this time.
