Abuser names unreleased

Virginia Beach Police are investing an alleged case of dogfighting. Police got a call Dec 11 about animal cruelty at a home off Castlefield Road. When police arrived they found 8 pit bulls, some of them with scars.

In court papers police say the dogs were "each on heavy tow chains, each in poor condition some without adequate shelter." Police also say they saw "equipment known to be used in dogfighting".

So far no charges in the case. The dogs are now in the care and custody of animal control.
