Police in Warren say they're investigating the fatal shooting of a couple and their dog. They say the man was shot first and a suicide note was found.

Investigators tell WDIV-TV that officers went to the couple's home after getting a house alarm call before dawn Monday.

Police say they found a 51-year-old man who apparently was fatally shot while sleeping in a bedroom. They say they found his wife's body in a hallway. And the family dog also was shot to death.

Investigators were withholding the victims' until after relatives were notified.
