The Humane Society of the United States is offering a reward up to $2,500 for information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible for shooting a domesticated cat to death in Troutville, Va. in early December.
Botetourt Animal Control gives the following account: A black, spayed, long-haired female cat was shot at close range with a .22-caliber bullet on Dec. 4 in the 600 block of Greenway Hollow in Troutville, Va. Surgery was performed to remove the bullet, but she died shortly afterward.
Botetourt County Animal Control is investigating. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call 540-473-8230.
