Virginia Beach Animal Control received a report of Animal Cruelty in the 100 blk. of S. Budding Ave., Virginia Beach on November 19, 2007.

Alan R. Kanelopoulos, was allegedly giving his roommate's cat a bath on November 15. When his roommate came home she found that her cat was having difficulty walking and had facial injuries. She then transported the cat to a local emergency vet for treatment. The cat died from it's injuries the next morning.

A necropsy was done and showed that the kitten died as a result of severe trauma to the head.

Kanelaopoulos, 23, has been charged with one count of Felony Animal Cruelty. He's now being held at the Virginia Beach Correctional Center without bond.
