more information on voting
When you vote, you are voting on whether or not the punishment fit the crime, NOT on the severity of the case itself. If you feel the sentence was very weak, you would vote 1 star. If you feel the sentence was very strong, you would vote 5 stars.
Please vote honestly and realistically. These ratings will be used a a tool for many future programs, including a "Peoples Choice" of best and worst sentencing, DA and judge "report cards", and more. Try to resist the temptation to vote 1 star on every case, even if you feel that 100 years in prison isnt enough.

Cat found dead, throat slashed Olathe, KS (US)Incident Date: Saturday, Jun 30, 2007 County: Johnson
Charges: Felony CTA Disposition: Convicted
Defendant/Suspect: Michael Vincent Keltner
According to The Kansas City Star, a 20-year-old Olathe man accused of killing a woman's cat pleaded guilty on Nov 20, 2007 to felony animal cruelty.
Michael Vincent Keltner will be sentenced Jan. 22. In return for his guilty plea, prosecutors agreed to drop a misdemeanor telephone harassment charge. Keltner will have to serve at least 30 days in jail. He remains on house arrest.
An Overland Park woman reported in July that Keltner broke into and tore up her apartment, threatened her over the phone and killed her cat.
The woman had recently split from her husband, who was serving in the military in South Korea, police said. Keltner, a friend of the husband, went to her apartment in the 10400 block of Conser Street to retrieve some of the husband's belongings.
The woman reported finding threatening phone messages, allegedly from Keltner.
The next day, she checked a trash bin to see if some of her belongings had been thrown out. She found her yellow and white cat dead, its throat slashed. References « More cases in Johnson County, KS
