Bergen, NJ (US)

Incident Date: Monday, May 29, 2006
County: Bergen

Disposition: Alleged

Alleged: Daniel Graham

A Bergen County man is in jail for allegedly stabbing his girlfriend's dog to death in a dispute.

Suzanne Buckley, 19, says 21-year-old Daniel Graham called her during the Memorial Day weekend and left a message about her Shepherd-collie. Graham allegedly said he had stabbed the dog and it was flailing about. Graham ended the message with, "I love you." Buckley says Graham attacked her dog because she stayed home when he wanted to go out.

Graham is being held on weapons and animal cruelty charges. Buckley is preparing to get a restraining order against him. Graham's family says he doesn't fully understand what he has done, but wants Buckley to know he is sorry.
