A dog and two iguanas were found dead inside a self-storage facility in Newport News.
Court documents filed Monday state the dog was chained to a piece of furniture inside Mini Price Self Storage at 491 Denbigh Blvd. Two caged iguanas also were found dead.
Investigators say the animals apparently died of starvation and dehydration.
Animal cruelty and abandonment charges are pending as the investigation continues.
