A 23-year old Cudahy man is charged with beating his 13-year-old male Beagle to death with an aluminum baseball bat Sunday night.

Sean Owen admitted to police that he beat his dog, claiming he was trying to end the sick dog's suffering. A neighbor says she witnessed the beating and called 911.

Owen was arrested and charged with a felony count of mistreatment of an animal causing death. His next court date is schedule for November 12.
