Dog-fighting Alton Park, TN (US)Incident Date: Tuesday, Sep 11, 2007 County: Hamilton
Disposition: Alleged
Alleged: Kent D. Coleman
An Alton Park man has been charged with dog fighting after he reportedly turned his pit bull loose so it could attack a neighbor's Chihuahua.
Kent D. Coleman, 48, of 3724 Carl White Place (formerly Frederick Street) was picked up on an outstanding warrant filed by Officer Kenneth Brumfield.
He was later released on $1,000 bond.
Officer Brumfield said he was informed on Tuesday, Sept. 11, that the incident involving Coleman took place the previous day.
The officer Donna Moulton told him that on Sept. 10, between 10:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m., Kent Coleman removed his pit bull from its kennel and turned it loose on the chihuahua.
The smaller dog, which belongs to Cynthia Eady, was taken to a veterinarian and treated for tears and puncture wounds consistent with animal fighting.
Coleman is scheduled to appear in Hamilton County Sessions Court at 1:30 p.m. on Nov. 8 on charges of animal fighting. References« TN State Animal Cruelty Map « More cases in Hamilton County, TN
