A Casselberry man under surveillance by police on suspicion of drug activity was arrested Wednesday on charges of owning and tormenting dogs used for fighting and drug possession with intent to sell.

Daniel Coleman, 28, of 503. W. Grandview Way, was arrested on 14 animal cruelty and drug charges.

According to Casselberry police, officers used a surveillance operation for about the last 45 days on suspicion that Coleman was trafficking drugs. Police said they found 10.5 pounds of marijuana, 6 grams of hydrocodone, drug paraphernalia and packaging used to sell drugs.

Casselberry police said they unexpectedly also discovered three pit pulls being trained to fight along with chains, cages, treadmills for the dogs, syringes and animal medication associated with dogfighting activity.

Coleman was transported to the Seminole County Jail.

Amber Lindsey Urbanik, 19, of Casselberry, was also arrested in the operation on drug charges.
