They're now at the LaPorte County Small Animal Shelter.

Police are still working on possible charges against the owner.

Case Updates

A La Porte man at whose home police reportedly found piles of animal feces and puddles of animal urine has been arrested on 13 counts of animal neglect, all Class B misdemeanors.

La Porte City Police arrested Jordan Parker, 24, Monday more than two weeks after they removed 14 animals from Parker's house in the 1200 block of Scott Street in La Porte.

On Oct. 7, police removed three adult pit bulls, eight pit bull puppies and one cat from the home after "enormous" piles of animal feces and "numerous" puddles of animal urine where reportedly found inside the home.

Another pit bull was removed Oct. 9.

The home reportedly lacked electricity, running water and heating and cooling systems, leading police to believe that Parker had abandoned the animals there, something Parker denied.

It is unknown whether Parker has posted bail.
