A 61-year-old Spanish Springs woman was arrested on a warrant charging her with intentionally running over a dog during a dispute with its owner and another woman who were riding horses near her property.
Chris McClenahan was booked into the Washoe County Jail late Oct 10 afternoon on suspicion of animal cruelty, a misdemeanor, related to allegedly running over Parker, a 4-year-old chocolate Labrador retriever in August.
McClenahan faces six months in the Washoe County Jail and a $1,000 fine. A message left at her home seeking comment went unreturned.
Parker, an 85-pound dog, has since recovered from his injuries, which included abrasions, cuts and blood loss. He was also diagnosed with a respiratory ailment. References |
