Ludington police are investigating the Sunday afternoon shooting death of a dog in the Seventh Street area.

Police received a call at 1:35 p.m. saying someone was shooting at dogs in that area. The department had received reports earlier in the day that two dogs were running loose in the area.

When police arrived they found a dog had been shot and was injured. It died later.

The police have turned information over to the Mason County Animal Control Office.
