Richard Crocker faces additional charges after an Aug. 30 raid on a meth lab at his home at 563 S. Ray-Quincy Road.

Prosecutors have added six counts of animal cruelty to the felony drug charges, after Branch County Sheriffs Office (BCSO) deputies rounded up dozens of sick and wild cats on his property.

BCSO Deputy Steve McManamey and Animal Control Officer Scott Robey said 39 cats were captured and taken to the shelter. Several were so ill and in poor shape they had to be put down. The officers said Crockers wife, who was not living there, came to the house and removed 12 cats that were hers.
