When you vote, you are voting on whether or not the punishment fit the crime, NOT on the severity of the case itself. If you feel the sentence was very weak, you would vote 1 star. If you feel the sentence was very strong, you would vote 5 stars.
Please vote honestly and realistically. These ratings will be used a a tool for many future programs, including a "Peoples Choice" of best and worst sentencing, DA and judge "report cards", and more. Try to resist the temptation to vote 1 star on every case, even if you feel that 100 years in prison isnt enough.

A woman is facing an animal-cruelty charge after authorities discovered 85 live cats and 30 dead, frozen ones at her southwestern Michigan home.
Two live dogs also were found Wednesday at the house, said Patrick Fetherston, Cass County's animal control director.
The live animals and the carcasses were removed from the home, which is in the county's Howard Township near South Bend, Ind.
Meanwhile, the 59-year-old woman was taken into custody on a preliminary charge of cruelty to animals and released on bond, pending her arraignment in 4th District Court at a later date, the Cass County sheriff's office said in a statement.
Deputies did not release her identity.
The cats and dogs were found both inside and outside the home. Fetherston said Thursday a veterinarian was in the process of examining the live animals but he declined to comment further about the condition of either the pets or the home.
Case UpdatesA southwestern Michigan woman has been sentenced to a year of probation after authorities removed 85 cats, two dogs and the frozen bodies of 30 more cats from her home.
Fifty-nine-year-old Carol Bowie of Howard Township pleaded no contest in Cass County District Court to two counts of animal cruelty.
About half the cats had to be euthanized.
The judge returned Bowie's dogs, but she's not allowed to keep any cats during the next year.
She says that's the worst part of her sentence.
Bowie says a back injury prevented her from taking proper care of her cats. Many were unwanted pets that people dumped on her doorstep. | Source: Battle Creek Enquirer - Nov 14, 2007 Update posted on Nov 14, 2007 - 12:51PM |
About 25 cats seized last month from a Cass County home will be made available for adoption Thursday and Friday at the county animal shelter in Cassopolis, officials said.
The cats are among those found by authorities Sept. 12 at the home of a 59-year-old woman. A total of 97 live cats, 29 frozen cats and two dogs were taken from the Howard Township residence, said Patrick Fetherston, director of Cass County Animal Control.
The homeowner, Carol A. Bowie, is scheduled to be in Cass County District Court on Nov. 6 for trial on 16 counts of animal cruelty, Fetherston said.
Two days after they were found, 35 of the cats were euthanized at the advice of a veterinarian, according to Fetherston.
After the animals were discovered, officials received inquiries from some pet owners who were looking for missing cats, a news release said. One cat found at the Howard Township house was returned to its owner, the release said. | Source: Mlive - Oct 3, 2007 Update posted on Oct 9, 2007 - 2:17AM |
