A Botetourt County teen will stay behind bars after investigators say he strangled a puppy.

Zachary Arthur was charged with animal cruelty. According to reports, the 18-year-old beat and then manually strangled the three-month old Dachshund puppy in June.

At a hearing on Aug 28, Judge Trumbo denied him bond.
