Alleged: Juan Gabriel Garduno Arias

A Phoenix man was booked on suspicion of animal cruelty after an anonymous caller tipped Sheriff's detectives Wednesday night.

Maricopa County sheriff's animal cruelty detectives suspect 29-year-old Juan Gabriel Garduno Arias of failing to provide food or water to two horses.

The horses were in need of medical treatment for severe hoof and leg problems. They were both underweight by several hundred pounds and required immediate medical attention.
