The last dogfighting arrest in Nashville was in October 2005, when police raided an east Nashville home on South 13th Street. Twelve dogs were euthanized after they were found in the back yard, many in poor condition and with wounds and scars indicating use in dogfights.

The man who had the dogs was charged with felony dogfighting. He pleaded guilty to misdemeanor animal cruelty and was sentenced to two years probation.
