weak sentence = one star

more information on voting

When you vote, you are voting on whether or not the punishment fit the crime, NOT on the severity of the case itself. If you feel the sentence was very weak, you would vote 1 star. If you feel the sentence was very strong, you would vote 5 stars.

Please vote honestly and realistically. These ratings will be used a a tool for many future programs, including a "People’s Choice" of best and worst sentencing, DA and judge "report cards", and more. Try to resist the temptation to vote 1 star on every case, even if you feel that 100 years in prison isn’t enough.

Warwick, RI (US)

Incident Date: Friday, Mar 14, 1997
County: Kent

Disposition: Convicted

David Ramsey, from Warwick, Rhode Island pled Nolo Contendre to Neglect and Abandonment charges. The actual arrest took place in March of 1997. He was under Judicial Supervision for a year and suspended from all American Kennel Club privledges for 10 years for his cruelty plea.

Regarding David Ramsey's suspension. The AKC published the following in March 1998 in the GAZETTE, page 102:

David Ramsey (Warwick, RI) was suspended by the Board of Directors at its October 13, 1997 meeting after considering the Report and Findings of the Northeastern Trial Board, which on June 17, 1997 heard charges against him. He was charged with submitting, or causing to be submitted, a registration application which he knew, or should have known, contained a false or improper certification, and with failing to keep and maintain adequate records of ownership, breeding, transfers or litters produced, as required by Chapter 4, Registration and Discipline. The Trial Board sustained the charges and recommended a suspension of ten years and a $500 fine. The Board VOTED to adopt this recommendation.

Note: Classifications and other fields should not be used to determine what specific charges the suspect is facing or was convicted of - they are for research and statistical purposes only. The case report and subsequent updates outline the specific charges. Charges referenced in the original case report may be modified throughout the course of the investigation or trial, so case updates, when available, should always be considered the most accurate reflection of charges.
