Dog burned with hot cooking oil
West Palm Beach, FL (US)

Incident Date: Saturday, Aug 4, 2007
County: Palm Beach

Disposition: Open

Suspect(s) Unknown - We need your help!

Officials there say someone poured hot cooking oil on a puppy and left him to die. A tip led animal control to find the pit bull puppy scalded.

They believe someone boiled cooking oil and poured it on the dog to get revenge on his owner.

A spokesperson for the Humane Society of the Treasure Coast says the investigation is ongoing.

The puppy's wounds were so bad when he was brought to the Humane Society, they didn't know if he'd survive.

But, a strong will to live, lots of love from a foster parent, and plenty of visits to veterinarians all helped give the little dog named Chance, a second chance at life.

The now four month old puppy is on his way to a full recovery and was just adopted into a loving home.
