Lawrence Police are investigating a report of animal cruelty in the 2500 block of Ousdahl Road. A neighbor called police July 6 to report that she heard dogs yelping from inside and could smell an odor of waste from outside the apartment.

After an apartment manager opened the residence, two dogs and two cats were found in the apartment without water.

A third cat, still in the apartment, is being sought by Animal Control. The other pets are in the custody of the Lawrence Humane Society.
