Suspect(s) Unknown - We need your help!

Police are looking for anyone who knows how a kitten ended up so badly injured it will need to have its left leg amputated.

The Humane Society of the United States is offering a $2,500 reward in the case.

According to the Humane Society, someone found a kitten in an Oakdale parking lot, near Tanner's Lake, on July 8. The older kitten had a shoelace around its neck, a crushed left back leg, a damaged right back leg and the pad on its right front paw was scraped up.

The kitten also had rocks, sand and a tar like substance around its mouth and had cuts on its ears.

The person who found the kitten took it to Caring for Cats, a St. Paul animal shelter.

Dr. Michael Foster has been treating the cat volunteers have named Campbell. He says he wasn't sure the kitten would live, but in the past week the little girl has made amazing progress.

"We are optimistic about her potential for a full recovery and a long, healthy life."

Her left hind leg will be amputated once she's healthy and able to withstand the surgery.
