A Missouri man was ticketed for animal cruelty after Lawrence police said he left a dog unattended in his car Saturday near Seventh and New Hampshire streets.
A Lawrence municipal ordinance makes it illegal to leave an animal alone in a car for more than five minutes when the temperature is hotter than 80 degrees, police said. The temperature reached 90 degrees Saturday.
