A Tampa couple faces felony charges of animal cruelty after investigators found their dog hiding under a house with part of its leg missing.
Norman Price and Kellene Allen were arrested Friday night on animal cruelty charges.
Their dog, an adult female pit bull terrier, was found Thursday night hiding under a house after a neighbor reported its condition.
Investigators haven't said why the dog's leg was missing.
Price and Allen say they took the dog to the vet to get the leg treated, but didn't do follow up treatment.
Animal services officials say there are no indications the dog was used in dog fighting, and that despite its condition, it has a "sweet disposition."
The dog is now on pain medication, but animal services says they need someone to adopt the dog to pay for the cost of fixing its leg.

| According to court records, Kellene Allen accepted a misdemeanor intervention program on August 20, which will divert her from prosecution on the animal cruelty charge if she complies with the court's conditions.
