more information on voting
When you vote, you are voting on whether or not the punishment fit the crime, NOT on the severity of the case itself. If you feel the sentence was very weak, you would vote 1 star. If you feel the sentence was very strong, you would vote 5 stars.
Please vote honestly and realistically. These ratings will be used a a tool for many future programs, including a "Peoples Choice" of best and worst sentencing, DA and judge "report cards", and more. Try to resist the temptation to vote 1 star on every case, even if you feel that 100 years in prison isnt enough.

An East Boston man is under arrest and facing charges in a bizarre incident where a burning cat was thrown at a building.
Luigi Epifania, 23, was arrested Friday night and "confessed to the crime," according to a statement issued by Boston police.
Police responded to call for a burning dead cat at 204 Princeton St. in East Boston on Wednesday. Witnesses told police that they saw a man approach the house and throw what appeared to be a burning object at the building.
Epifania is charged with the malicious killing of a domestic animal and arson. The police statement offered no explanation for the crime.
Case UpdatesAn East Boston man who has served time for animal cruelty and arson was sentenced to three to five years in state prison yesterday for violating probation on a 2008 assault and battery charge, according to a spokesman for the Suffolk district attorney’s office.

Buzz ShareThis Luigi Epifania, 27, was arraigned in March on charges of trafficking in OxyContin, which violated his probation, said Jake Wark, a spokesman for the district attorney. Boston police said they observed Epifania and another man allegedly conduct what they believed was a drug transaction in a car with a third man.
Police found 150 OxyContin tablets in the car, Wark said.
Epifania had previously served 2 1/2 years in prison for kicking and stomping a cat to death, lighting the remains on fire, and throwing them into a building on Princeton Street in East Boston in June 2007, the district attorney’s office said in 2008.
A few days before the cat incident, Epifania had attacked an acquaintance during a botched drug sale, the statement said.
Epifania pleaded guilty to charges of assault and battery and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon for slashing and punching the victim, forcing him to strip and get in the shower, and then threatening him with a hot frying pan.
A Suffolk Superior Court judge sentenced Epifania to five years of probation for the assault case and credited him with the 15 months he spent behind bars awaiting trial, according to the statement. The Suffolk district attorney’s office had originally asked for a sentence of two to four years.
“While this sentence is not the one we sought,’’ Suffolk District Attorney Daniel F. Conley said in the 2008 statement, “it will keep the defendant under the court’s watchful eye for years to come with the potential for hard time if he reoffends.’’ | Source: Boston.com - Jul 29, 2010 Update posted on Jul 29, 2010 - 2:03PM |
Luigi Epifania, accused of beating a cat in a rage and then lighting its remains on fire and throwing them through an apartment window was sentenced Thursday to 30 months in prison, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney's office.
Epifania, 24, was convicted in August of killing "Nunu" and tossing the cat aflame through a Princeton Street window on June 13, 2007.
Prosecutors proved in trial that Epifania went looking for an acquaintance on the block but fell asleep on some steps when he was turned away. Upon waking, Epifania spotted the cat and began petting it before he "lost it" and started to stomp the cat.
When he saw the cat was dead, Epifania tossed it into a paper bag and set it on fire.
Two days before the incident, Epifania attacked a man after a botched drug sale, forcing him to strip in the shower and threatening him with a hot frying pan. For that offense he will serve five years of probation upon release from prison. | Source: Metro Boston News - Sept 4, 2008 Update posted on Sep 6, 2008 - 12:24PM |
