An animal control officer arrested a Staunton woman Sunday on Walnut Street after finding 10 malnourished puppies in confined quarters, the Staunton Police Department said.
Wendy Bratton, 48, is charged with one count of animal cruelty.
Police responded to Bratton's home Sunday evening and found 10 pit bull pups in a small pen that measured 6-feet by 3-feet, police said. The puppies were thin and dirty, according to a police report.
Bratton is free on a personal recognizance bond.
