Brian Lee McCants allegedly failed to provide adequate care, food, and shelter for a canine found in his possession, an underweight and malnourished pit-bull mix.

He was convicted of one misdemeanor count of cruelty to animals on April 17, 2007.

McCants was sentenced to 2 months in jail with 11 months suspended for 3 years. He was placed on 3 years unsupervised probation and ordered to pay court costs. He is prohibited from owning or possessing companion animals as part of his probation.
