Dogs intentionally starved, resort to cannibalism Youngstown, OH (US)Incident Date: Sunday, Apr 29, 2007 County: Mahoning
Charges: Misdemeanor Disposition: Alleged
Alleged: » Ronald Hover » Randall Hover
Animals intentionally being left to die of starvation is the latest case of abuse in Youngstown.
Ronald and Randall Hover were in court this morning to answer to animal cruelty charges. On April 29, the Mahoning County Dog Warden's office was called out to their home on Lakeview Avenue. What they found was upsetting. The dogs had fought till one killed the other and ate half of the animal.
Accordfing to the Dog Warden, the Hovers did not have the money to take the dogs to the Dog Warden to have them "disposed" of, so they decided to simply let the dogs starve to death so the problem would "take care of itself."
Mahoning County Dog Warden Dave Nelson estimates that the dogs had not been fed in at least 7 to 10 days. References- WKBN - April 30, 2007
