A Westside family is asking the public for any information on the person or persons responsible for killing their family dog.

Vargas was a one-year-old boxer when he was shot and killed in late March – apparently by burglars who made off with a couple of watches and a ring.

"He was just the best family dog ever," said Scott Eldredge. "Great with the kids, he's just the perfect dog."

A neighbor reported seeing two Hispanics jumping over the Eldredge's backyard fence and fleeing the area at the time the burglary occurred.

The suspects are described as 16 to 20 years old wearing dark pants and red polo shirts. Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call Crimestoppers.
