Colusa County is pursuing cockfighting-related charges against an Arbuckle man.

Marcus Frank Guaydacan, 32, surrendered at Sheriff's Department headquarters at about 11 a.m. on April 11, according to a jail booking report. He was released later in the day, a jail spokesman said.

Deputies detained Guaydacan for investigation of violating a state law against maiming and mutilating animals, including birds. The jail described the misdemeanor charge as connected to cockfighting.

Guaydacan also is suspected of forgery and receiving stolen property, both felonies.
