Logan County Sheriffs deputies on April 3 arrested a male juvenile from Kidz Ark in connection with the death of a puppy.

The juvenile was charged with cruelty to animals and was transferred to the Platte Valley Juvenile Facility, LCSO Lt. Justin Hoppal said.

Citing an ongoing investigation, Hoppal declined to go into detail on the nature of the incident.

What was mentioned was that LCSO received a report regarding a missing puppy Tuesday at Kidz Ark.

Kidz Ark is a residential treatment facility for children between the ages of 10 to 18 and administered by licensed and certified professionals in education and mental health and is located in the 17000 block of County Road 32.

Initial investigation has pinpointed to the juvenile in question as the primary suspect.

Hoppal said that the allegations was there were abuses in a variety of ways done to the puppy before it died.

LCSO said that the juvenile suspect was the one who led deputies to the whereabouts of the dead puppy in a nearby field.
