Reportedly tied to a fence post and denied food, water, and shelter for more than a month at a residence allegedly occupied by Eric Miller of Ross Street in Spavinaw, Oklahoma, a dog finally died on March 4, 2007, according to PETA complainants.

While PETA asked the authorities to open a criminal investigation into this dogs alleged prolonged suffering and death, it appears that they have failed to do so. Other than a phone call from Spavinaws chief of police to the alleged abusersduring which, he tells PETA, the suspects spewed myriad excusesPETA knows of no actions that have been taken to ensure at least a small measure of justice for this dog.

Oklahoma law, specifically OK ST T. 21 1685, states that [a]ny person who shall ... deprive any such animal of necessary food, drink, shelter, or veterinary care to prevent suffering; or who shall cause, procure or permit any such animal to be deprived of necessary food, drink, shelter, or veterinary care to prevent suffering shall be guilty of a felony .
