Edward A. Faron, owner of Wildside Kennels, was convicted of dog-fighting on June 7, 1989, according to Alamance County court records. He was sentenced to 12 months in jail and 3 years supervised probation. Ed and Chris Faron went on to write the book, "The Complete Gamedog" in 1995, which details "fictional" accounts of his participation in illegal animal fighting. Jim Bailey and Paul Harden were also convicted, and sentenced to 6 months in jail and 3 years' supervised probation. Conviction records are not currently available on co-defendant Roger Hellard.
