Abuser names unreleased
A Roane County woman claims her neighbor has allowed five horses to starve to death, and she is accusing county officials of ignoring her complaints.
Emma White showed pictures of two dead horses to the County Commission Feb 28 night. She said the horses were starved by her neighbors and died in the creek on her property.
She said three other horses have died as well, but one horse is still on the property.
White said complaints to the Roane County Sheriff's Department and the county's humane officer haven't been taken seriously.
"My husband spoke with the sheriff face to face on two occasions and reported this and nothing was ever done."
Roane County Sheriff Todd Cole said White filed one complaint in January about neighbors starving horses.
A deputy has been assigned to investigate the case.
So far no charges have been filed. References |
