Defendant/Suspect: Jane Patricia Pettegrew

A woman from Harden, in southern New South Wales, found guilty of 21 animal cruelty charges, has been banned from owning animals for two decades.

Jane Patricia Pettegrew, 59, was charged for cruelty to dogs, sheep and calves on a property at Harden in November 2006.

In Young Local Court this week, Pettegrew was fined $4,800 and ordered to pay the RSPCA $10,500.

She has also been banned from owning or having in her custody any animals for the next 20 years.

Custody of her nine kelpies has been awarded to the RSPCA.
