Police arrested a woman on Feb 15 for investigation of animal cruelty after complaints led officers to discover animals living in horrible conditions in the 2700 block of S. Lafayette St.

According to a police report, officers were called to the residence after several callers complained.

Once inside, officers discovered more than 20 birds along with multiple cats and turtles at the residence living in poor conditions.

Police arrested the suspect, a 50-year-old woman, who may now face animal cruelty charges.
