Suspect(s) Unknown - We need your help!
A cat named Patches was shot by an arrow Feb 20 and had to be euthanized.
"What they could do for her couldn't guarantee they could save her," said Beverley Hawk, the cat's owner.
Police were called to the River Creek subdivision north of downtown Suffolk when the cat's owners found the animal had been shot about 6 p.m. with what appeared to be a crossbow-like weapon, according to a police report.
No similar injuries to animals have been reported in recent years, said Suffolk police Lt. Debbie George, who added that the incident was under investigation.
Hawk said Patches was 6 or 7 and had been a part of her family since it was a kitten.
"I would like to know who did it and why did they feel the need to shoot the cat," Hawk said. "My cat didn't do anything."

Note: Classifications and other fields should not be used to determine what specific charges the suspect is facing or was convicted of - they are for research and statistical purposes only. The case report and subsequent updates outline the specific charges. Charges referenced in the original case report may be modified throughout the course of the investigation or trial, so case updates, when available, should always be considered the most accurate reflection of charges.
