An Aurora man was arrested on Feb 20 for allegedly strangling his pet Boxer dog after it bit him on the hand.
Robert McDuff, 41, told Arapahoe County sheriff s deputies that his 1-year-old Boxer, Dempsey, had bitten him on the right hand. So McDuff strangled the dog with its leash until it died, according to the sheriff s office.
Deputies found the dead dog in a plastic bag in McDuff s garage on the 21200 block of East Lehigh Place.
McDuff was arrested and was being held in jail on a $50,000 bond for investigation of aggravated cruelty to animals, a class VI felony. Robert McDuff will appear in court next on July 24 at 1:30 for a case management hearing.
McDuff, a convicted sex offender, allegedly told Arapahoe County deputies that his 1-year-old Boxer, Dempsey, had bitten him in February.
According to the sheriff's office, McDuff then strangled the dog with its leash until it died.
