Five puppies were found frozen to death in the back yard of a home in Syracuse. Acting on a tip, Rural-Metro paramedics arrived at a house at 542 Seymour Street, where the puppies were found. The puppies' mother, a German Shepard mix, was rescued and turned over to the SPCA.
The dog was not in good health but her condition is improving. A necropsy performed on the puppies indicates they died of exposure and starvation.
The owners, Michelle and Timothy Green, face six counts of animal cruelty. If convicted, they could face up to six years in prison. The German Shepard will be up for adoption after she recovers. The Greens are in court March 18. Neighborhood MapFor more information about the Interactive Animal Cruelty Maps, see the map notes.
