A man has been arrested for shooting a yellow Labrador Retriever in late January in Pine Township.

Detectives from the Montcalm County Sheriff's Office identified a 42-year-old man as the primary suspect. He confessed to the shooting.

The as-yet-unnamed man was charged on Wednesday with carelessly discharging his weapon resulting in property damage, a misdemeanor with a one-year penalty.

Arraignment is scheduled for February 23. 24 Hour News 8 will have more information as it develops.
