more information on voting
When you vote, you are voting on whether or not the punishment fit the crime, NOT on the severity of the case itself. If you feel the sentence was very weak, you would vote 1 star. If you feel the sentence was very strong, you would vote 5 stars.
Please vote honestly and realistically. These ratings will be used a a tool for many future programs, including a "Peoples Choice" of best and worst sentencing, DA and judge "report cards", and more. Try to resist the temptation to vote 1 star on every case, even if you feel that 100 years in prison isnt enough.

A 45-year-old man in Palm Bay, Fla., was charged with nine counts of felony cruelty to animals after police found several emaciated dogs at his home, some of which were apparently used for fighting, according to a police report.
Officers made the discovery of the dogs at the home of Eddie Hardison located at 1230 Sexton Rd. in Palm Bay while responding to an unrelated complaint of a stray animal in the area.
An officer said he noticed a pit bull chained with no food or water at the home and investigated. A total of nine dogs were found at Hardison's home later, including five puppies.
The adult dogs all appeared to be malnourished with cuts and injuries that suggested the dogs were used for fighting, a police report.
Hardison was arrested and the dogs were taken by animal control.
"This man has a history of charges involving animal neglect," said Officer Jeff Hunter. "The investigation into this matter will continue."
Case UpdatesAccording to court records, eight counts of animal cruelty were dismissed against accused dog-fighter Eddie Hardison as part of a plea bargain on June 4. In exchange, Hardison pled to one misdemeanor count of animal cruelty, which was deferred. According to court records, Hardison will serve no jail time as part of the plea. Instead, he will be placed on 6 months probation, serve 20 hours community service, and pay a fine of $171.00.
Hardison was charged following a February investigation, when an emaciated pit bull was found chained without food or water. Officers said that Hardison claimed not to have other dogs, but barking was heard in his house.
Officers later found a total of nine dogs in the residence, including five 8-week old puppies. According to reports, the dogs appeared to be malnourished, and had cuts and injuries that suggested the dogs had been used for fighting.
Hardison was initially charged with nine felony counts of cruelty to animals, which were reduced to misdemeanors in March. Last week, eight of those charges were dismissed as part of the plea agreement. | Source: Brevard County Case #05-2007-MMA 50003 Update posted on Jun 6, 2007 - 2:35PM |

Eddie Hardison, 45, was charged after a two-week investigation that followed an unrelated call about a stray dog. Police said he didn't cooperate with their Jan. 26 investigation of an emaciated pit bull chained in his Sexton Road yard without food or water. Officers said Hardison claimed not to have other dogs, but an officer heard barking in his house.
Officers later found a total of nine dogs in the residence, including five 8-week old puppies. The adult dogs all appeared to be malnourished with cuts and injuries that suggest the dogs were used for fighting, said Yvonne Martinez, police spokeswoman. The dogs were taken by animal control officers, who also cited Hardison for multiple violations amounting to nearly $1,000 in fines.
