The Humane Society of Louisiana is launching a Radar the Wonder Horse Fund Drive in an effort to raise money for the care of Radar, a neglected and severely malnourished horse who was rescued from the Scott area in December.
Since then, members of the Acadia Parish chapter of the Humane Society have been caring for Radar, and chapter president Janet Lyons has paid more than $600 for the horse's care.
In addition to money, the society is also accepting donations of fresh hay, cat food and dog food, which will be shared among several abused animals currently in Lyons' care.
Monetary donations may be sent to the Acadia Chapter of the Humane Society of Louisiana, P.O. Box 697, Church Point, La., 70525. To donate animal food or supplies, please contact Lyons at 654-4392.
