Suspect(s) Unknown - We need your help!

A dog named Gracie was kidnapped from a Blue Ridge Community College student, put into a trash bag, and thrown off a five-story parking garage near the stadium at JMU.

"Whenever someone takes someone's animal and abuses it in this manner, it's of the character of a regular breaking and entering that we work. An animal to some people is just like a child," says investigator Mike Spiggle of the HPD.

Miraculously, the dog survived the fall and is recovering from extensive surgery. Police are investigating several leads in the case.

Note: Classifications and other fields should not be used to determine what specific charges the suspect is facing or was convicted of - they are for research and statistical purposes only. The case report and subsequent updates outline the specific charges. Charges referenced in the original case report may be modified throughout the course of the investigation or trial, so case updates, when available, should always be considered the most accurate reflection of charges.
