more information on voting
When you vote, you are voting on whether or not the punishment fit the crime, NOT on the severity of the case itself. If you feel the sentence was very weak, you would vote 1 star. If you feel the sentence was very strong, you would vote 5 stars.
Please vote honestly and realistically. These ratings will be used a a tool for many future programs, including a "Peoples Choice" of best and worst sentencing, DA and judge "report cards", and more. Try to resist the temptation to vote 1 star on every case, even if you feel that 100 years in prison isnt enough.

Hoarding 296 animals Williamson, NY (US)Incident Date: Wednesday, Oct 31, 2001 County: Wayne
Disposition: Convicted Case Images: 4 files available
Defendants/Suspects: » Margaret Roller » Mary Roller
Two Wayne County women have been charged with misdemeanor animal cruelty after they were caught with more than 200 neglected animals in their care. Police have arrested 78-year-old Margaret Roller and her 53-year-old daughter Mary Roller.
Authorities took the animals away from the women's home in Williamson earlier this month. Animal cruelty investigators found 133 chickens found inside one room in the house. They also took 50 rabbits, 47 goats, 36 ducks and other birds and some dogs and cats.
Investigators say the animals were underfed, lacked proper shelter, and in some cases were living in feces more than a foot deep. "The goats were in particularly bad shape. Two of them had horns that had grown back around and into their head and two of them were completely down when we got there and were not able to walk or get up at all," said Sandy Christiansen from Lollypop Farm.
The women will have to appear in Williamson Town Court to answer to the cruelty charges which are misdemeanors because the DA's office says there was no torture involved. References« NY State Animal Cruelty Map « More cases in Wayne County, NY
