A Tuscola County man accused of torturing a Lapeer County family likely will face a Circuit Court jury.

Lapeer County District Judge John T. Connolly said sufficient evidence exists for Dwayne A. Rocca, 38, of Fairgrove to face trial in connection with the Nov. 27 incident, the Lapeer County Press reported.

Authorities have accused Rocca and 34-year-old David Taylor of Cass City of breaking into a Lapeer Township home, using duct tape to bind three people, using a Taser to shock two people and killing a dog, Saginaw News records show.

Sheriff's deputies have said the men barged into the house about 1:30 a.m. when one of the residents opened a door to let three dogs out, records show.

Authorities claim the pair, dressed in T-shirts and baseball caps emblazoned with "FBI," terrorized at least five people, including a teenager and a young child.

The intruders took money, electronics and clothing.

Rocca and Taylor each face two counts of torture, three counts of armed robbery, two counts of torturing or killing an animal and single counts of safe breaking, home invasion, impersonating a police officer to commit a crime, larceny, possessing firearms as felons, possessing firearms while committing a felony and habitual offender, the Press reported.
