Suspect(s) Unknown - We need your help!

Sheriff's investigators are looking at a incident in which three puppies were thrown into a pond on Nov 16 as an animal cruelty case.

A resident at a mobile home park on Lamb Road off N.C. 211 called 911 after seeing a young girl throw a pillow case with the animals inside into the pond. A deputy rescued the cocker spaniel puppies, two tan and one black.

The incident happened about 6:15 p.m.

Katherine Floyd, a Robeson County Animal Cruelty investigator, said the dogs, which are 6 to 8 weeks old, were taken to local veterinary clinic for treatment.

Floyd said the dogs would not be up for adoption until the investigation had been completed. Floyd said investigators with the Juvenile Task Force are looking into the case.
